Maintaining good water quality in aquacultural farms can be a difficult challenge. Many disease outbreaks, which claim the lives of fish and prawns, are commonly traced to poor water quality. Even clear water may contain toxic nitrogenous compounds such as Ammonia, Nitrite, and Nitrate accumulation can also be toxic to fish and prawns and promote algal growth.

Apart from Bio Hero^®'s ability to consume ammonia, the unique feature of Bio Hero^®'s bacteria is its ability to breakdown and digests all types of organic waste in the pond. Bio Hero^® uses concentrated bacteria that are able to produce enzymes to breakdown organic waste and reduce ammonia as well as contain the growth of single-celled algae. Bio Hero^® is harmless to humans, plants, and animals, and is able to work in both freshwater and saltwater conditions.

Bacteria reduce ammonia in water in two steps. The first step is called Nitrification which is a chemical process that changes Ammonia (NH₃) to Nitrate (NO₃). The second step is called Denitrification which is a chemical process that changes Nitrate to Nitrogen gas (N₂), which in turn is released into the atmosphere. Water that passes through these two steps will have a lower ammonia level. Through years of research, we have been able to select single strains of bacteria with the best ability to reduce high levels of ammonia.

Recommendations for use of Bio Hero^®

For water with Ammonia level between 0-0.2ppm (mg/I)

:Use 4 tablets / 1600 m² / week

For water with Ammonia level between 0.2-0.8ppm

:Use 8 tablets / 1600 m² / week until Ammonia level reduces to <0.2ppm then use 4 tablets / 1600 m² / week

For water with Ammonia level >0.8ppm

:Use 32 tablets / 1600 m² / first week, then 16 tablets / 1600 m²/week until Ammonia < 0.2ppm then use 4 tablets / 1600 m²/week.
