Essential
Aqua Feed ( A High Nutrient Diet for Shrimps)
Essential Aquafeed is a Shrimp Grow-Out Feed. It is an emulsified mixture providing the essential nutrients generally lacking in empirically formulated shrimp feeds. These nutrients are known to be cholesterol, phospholipids, soluble phosphorus and soluble proteins/amino acids. Essential Aquafeed is therefore mixture of Cholesterol, Soybean, Lecithin, Mono-Calcium, Phosphorus and Soluble Proteins. Essential Aquafeed will improve the palatability and feed intake by the shrimps. It will also provide the essential nutrients often lacking in standard shrimp feeds, resulting in better growth, especially after the second half of the growing cycle. Essential Aquafeed also contains antioxidants.

Essential Aquafeed is a thick liquid that is to be mixed with the standard shrimp-feed pallets in the farms. The coating operation can be simply done by (a) weighing out the required quantity in a bucket and warming up (for instance, by exposing to sunlight), (b) spraying or simply pouring Essential Aquafeed onto the pallets. The optimal proportion has been generally found to be around 5%, however in some cases, the compact structure of the pallets will not allow a coating of more than 3%. Because every different shrimp-feed has a different porosity and structure, the coating procedure will have to be finalized for each farm by trial and error. When Essential Aquafeed is used, no extra fish oil should be added to the pallets.
