Golden Nuggets (Micro
Particulated Larval Feed)
Golden Nuggets is a first class micro-particulated diet. Carefully selected marine proteins are gently extruded under low temperature to form a well-shaped pellet in which all ingredients are properly texturised and intimately bound. The selection of the ingredients and the gentle processing ensure an excellent digestibility by the young larvae. Moreover the diet is perfectly stable in water and does not pollute the culture tank.

Trial results:
P.monodon reared on 6 x 0.5 m3 ponds till resp. PL12 (1st trial) and PL26 (2nd trial). The 2 treatments were a control group, mainly fed on Artemia and an experimental group, fed on Artemia supplemented with Golden Nuggets. Each treatment consisted of 3 replicates. Growth and survival was evaluated at the end of the experiment. In growth there were no differences between the control group and the experimental group. Survival rates at the end of each experiment are shown in the following figure:

Conclusion: survival was clearly improved by the supplementation with Golden Nuggets. The energy and protein content of Golden Nuggets per unit of weight ensure the optimal filling of the digestive tract of the shrimp. High digestibility and palatability of the diet limits cannibalism to a minimum.
