O2 Marine (Potent Aquaculture Oxygen Producer)
Properties:
· Continuously synthesizes oxygen gas from slow-release tablets.
·
Detoxifies noxious
gases and substances such as nitrites and hydrogen sulfides.
·
Prevents
Zoothamniums.
·
Promotes growth of
microorganisms necessary for sludge removal.
·
Increases
oxygenation in deeper areas of the pond.
·
Helps to increase
survival rates of aquaculture crops.
Maintaining optimum oxygenation in the water is paramount to the survival and well being of any aquaculture crop. Studies suggest that if oxygen saturation levels are allowed to fall below 5 PPM for any extended period of time, death rates can reach 50% or higher. Reduction of Oxygen levels can also reduce significantly an animal's ability to fight bacterial infestations in its system.
O2
Marine is a specially formulated odorless compound designed to produce oxygen
and hydrogen peroxide in any aquaculture environment. Furthermore, O2
Marine comes in a unique slow-release tablet form for maximum efficiency and easy
application. These tablets are designed to slowly dissolve over a 4-10 hour
period so as to continuously synthesize oxygen in the system. More importantly,
the tablet allows for penetration into deeper parts of the pond where aeration
systems have little or no effect. Studies show that even in well-aerated ponds,
the dissolved oxygen levels in the bottom of ponds can be as low as 2.2 PPM in
contrast to 10 PPM on surface of the ponds. By combining aerators and O2
Marine, maximum oxygen generation can be achieved.
·
Proper levels of
oxygen can help increase a microorganisms' efficiency in digesting sludge in
aquaculture ponds.
·
Hydrogen peroxide
can also help to eliminate toxic gases produced as a result of excessive
accretion of sludge in the pond environment. The process works as follows:
H2S + H2O2
-----> S + 2H20
This results in a reduction of toxicity from Hydrogen Sulfide therefore removing malodor from ecosystem as well as increasing prawns' survival rates.
Zoothamnium is an organism in the protozoa group,
which produces a special mucous that allows it to attach itself to a prawn
host. They are commonly found to present two problems in prawns:
1. Zoothamnium attaching themselves to the prawns' shells. This limits the prawns' mobility and therefore their ability to eat food. Their molting activities also can become abnormal.
2. Zoothamnium attaching themselves to the prawns' gills. This causes inflammation to the gills and as a result impairs the ability of the animal to intake oxygen and excrete ammonia.
O2 Marine solves Zoothamnium problems by producing Hydrogen Peroxide, which acts to remove mucous from the prawns' shells, stripping these animals from the prawns.
